Stairwell with SFERIQ DISK general lighting — reference project to DIN EN 12464-1, 150 lx average illuminance
SFERIQ DISK · Stairwell, administration building · DIN EN 12464-1 · 150 lx average illuminance

The new offer

We take over the photometric design — end to end.

Lighting design is both craft and compliance. We take both off your hands: we calculate, dimension and document the lighting for your project — from a single circulation area to a whole building — to the applicable German and European standards.

DIN EN 12464-1 for workplaces, DIN EN 1838 for safety and emergency lighting, ASR A3.4 for the workplace ordinance, VDE 0108 for the installation — whatever applies is applied, whatever needs to be proven is documented.

Corridors, stairwells, offices, educational buildings or special cases such as HQL retrofit or listed heritage stock — we find a solution. Ideally with our luminaires, but the design stays open and manufacturer-independent when the project calls for it.

Application areas

Four areas.One discipline.

From the DIN-compliant corridor to emergency lighting in the stairwell to the renovation of historic HQL stock — we design every common area of non-residential lighting.

Corridor in a non-residential building with SFERIQ DISK general lighting
DIN EN 12464-1

01 / General lighting

Corridors & passagewaysin non-residential buildings.

Standards-compliant circulation design — office towers, educational buildings, administration buildings, hospitals. Average illuminance 100–200 lx, uniform distribution, glare-free arrangement. Our core competence since 2008.

Stairwell with safety and emergency lighting, escape-route marking visible
DIN EN 1838 · ASR A3.4

02 / Emergency lighting

Safety &emergency lighting.

Escape-route lighting and anti-panic lighting for stairwells, escape and assembly routes, areas with elevated risk. Single-battery or central-battery systems — we calculate and document both to DIN EN 1838 and VDE 0108.

Exterior area with AURO NEXT — IP65/IK10 die-cast aluminium luminaire on façade
AURO NEXT · IP65 · IK10

03 / Exterior areas

Entrances, passageways& façades.

Weather-protected exterior lighting for entrances, passageways, car parks and façades. With our AURO NEXT series in solid die-cast aluminium — IP65, IK10, in anthracite or white. Designed to DIN EN 12464-2.

Underground car-park ramp with robust lighting in a renovation context
REVIVE · EU Blue Guide 2022

04 / Special areas

Underground car parks &existing-stock renovation.

Car parks, underground garages, listed heritage buildings, HQL stock. Through our REVIVE programme we renovate existing luminaires to standard with 3D-printed retrofit kits — instead of replacing, we re-certify.

DIALux layout of a stairwell with false-colour illuminance rendering
DIALux Evo · stairwell layout

Tooling

DIALux Evo & Relux — for every visual task, the right proof.

We design in the industry-standard tools. False-colour illuminance rendering, iso-lux contours, UGR calculation per viewing position, maintenance-factor accounting — everything VDE 0108 and DIN EN 12464-1 require for proof.

  • Calculation as PDF and native project file
  • 3D model with false-colour overlay
  • Emergency-lighting proof to DIN EN 1838
  • IES data and LDT files available for our luminaires

Scope

What you get from us.

Handover-ready documentation — straight into the tender, the building file or the BIM model.

  • Complete DIALux or Relux calculation

Including 3D model and false-colour rendering. Exported as PDF and native project file.

  • Standards-compliant proof

Illuminance, uniformity (g₁/g₂), UGR value, colour rendering — fully documented.

  • Emergency lighting & escape-route design

Compliant with DIN EN 1838 — single-battery or central-battery layout, with wiring diagram and escape-route marking.

  • Luminaire schedule with location plan

Article numbers, quantities, VOB-compliant tender text. Positioning marked on the floor plan.

  • Cost-benefit analysis

Energy cost and payback calculation — a strong selling point on renovation and retrofit projects in particular.

  • Personal point of contact

From the first conversation through to commissioning — one person, one workflow. Direct line, no ticket system.

REVIVE programme

Same body. New soul.

We renovate existing luminaires to standard — instead of replacing them. Measurement in the Ulbricht sphere, individual 3D-printed retrofit kit, new Declaration of Conformity under the EU Blue Guide 2022. The body stays, the lighting technology is brought up to 2026.

Why Akzentlicht

Four arguments that count.

66+ 3D-print units

Our own production in Düsseldorf.

Our 3D-print farm on Bonner Strasse produces custom brackets, adapters and retrofit kits in small and medium runs — within days, not weeks. Whatever the design calls for can also be built.

EU Blue Guide 2022 certified

REVIVE — standards-compliant HQL retrofit.

We measure existing luminaires in the Ulbricht sphere, renovate them with our 3D-printed kit and issue a new Declaration of Conformity. Re-certify instead of discarding. Eligible for funding.

∅ No manufacturer lock-in

Solution-led design.

Ideally with our luminaires — but the design is manufacturer-independent. Where our series (SFERIQ, CLARO, AURO NEXT, THE LINE, TOAST W26) don't fit, we propose alternatives.

A→Z plan to commissioning

End-to-end support.

Design, delivery, on-site support, sign-off, documentation. One point of contact, one workflow — for electrical contractors and planners who don't want to coordinate five suppliers.

»» Safety is the duty

When the general lighting fails, our job begins.

Emergency lighting is too often treated as a tick-box exercise. We design it as part of a coherent whole — with the same care as the main lighting.

FAQ

Frequent questions.

Answers to what planners and electrical contractors want to know before the first conversation.

  • What does lighting design cost?

We work with transparent fixed prices based on project size and complexity. A typical 500 m² office floor sits around €1,200–1,800; a stairwell incl. emergency lighting starts at €600. If you use our luminaires, the design fee is partially or fully credited against the order. Exact quote after the kickoff call.

  • Am I required to use your luminaires?

No. The design is manufacturer-independent. If our series (SFERIQ, CLARO, AURO NEXT, THE LINE, TOAST W26) fit, we propose them — if not, we design with other products. When you use our luminaires, we credit part of the design fee against the order.

  • What documents do you need?

Ideally: floor plans (PDF or DWG), sections, a room schedule with visual tasks and usage types. For renovations: photos of the existing luminaires and ideally the type plates. We also process IFC files from BIM. If documents are incomplete, we'll clarify in the kickoff call — we can work with less.

  • How long does a design take?

Standard projects: 5–10 working days from complete documents. Complex renovations or large projects: 2–4 weeks. We commit to the schedule after the kickoff call. For urgent projects we offer express handling at a surcharge.

  • Do you also design existing-stock renovations (HQL retrofit)?

Yes — it's one of our specialities. Through our REVIVE programme we renovate HQL, halogen and fluorescent stock to standard. We measure in the Ulbricht sphere, 3D-print brackets for the matching LED module and issue a new Declaration of Conformity under the EU Blue Guide 2022. Eligible for funding — we help with the application.

  • Do you also handle installation?

The electrical installation is carried out by the on-site electrical contractor — we supply the install-ready luminaires and the retrofit kit. We do, however, attend commissioning and sign-off in person, check the implementation against the design and issue the final documentation. For large projects we put you in touch with partner contractors in the region.
