Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026. The legally binding version of this notice is the German Datenschutzerklärung. This English summary is provided as a courtesy; in case of divergence, the German text prevails.
1. Data controller
The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
AKZENTLICHT Innovations GmbH & Co. KG
Bonner Straße 317
40589 Düsseldorf, Germany
Email: kontakt@akzentlicht.de
2. General principles
We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our services. Processing is generally based on the user's consent or on a legal basis under Art. 6 (1) GDPR (contract, legitimate interest, legal obligation).
Personal data is deleted or restricted as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
3. Server log files
Each time you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically records technical data (IP address — anonymised after 7 days, date and time of access, accessed URL, transferred volume, status code, user agent, referrer) in server log files.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the technical operation and stabilisation of the website. Log files are deleted automatically after 30 days.
4. Cookies and local storage
Our website does not set tracking cookies. We use only technically necessary local-storage entries to remember your preferences:
akzent_consent_v1— stores your analytics consent choice (see Section 5). Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR in conjunction with § 25 (2) no. 2 TTDSG.akzent_migration_seen_v1— marks that you have seen the URL-migration notice. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
You can delete these entries at any time via your browser's storage controls. No data is transmitted to third parties.
5. Web analytics
We use Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia) in its cookieless default configuration. Plausible collects no personal data, sets no cookies, and does not transfer data to third countries outside the EU. Analysis is aggregated and based on non-personal metrics (pageviews, session duration, referrer, country-level geolocation).
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent). Tracking is activated only if you have given consent via the on-site banner. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future by deleting the akzent_consent_v1 entry in your browser storage.
If your browser sends the Do-Not-Track signal (DNT = 1), web analytics is not activated regardless of any consent given.
6. Contact
If you contact us by email or through a contact form, we process the data you provide solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for contract-related contact, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient handling of your enquiry).
7. Your rights
As a data subject under the GDPR you have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Right to withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
To exercise your rights, an informal message to the contact address in Section 1 is sufficient.
8. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services. The current version on each visit applies.
